SBI group health insurance provides wider coverage to its customers. Customers can choose any sum insured at the time of taking the health insurance policy. The minimum sum insured under the sbi health insurance is Rs.1 lakh and the maximum sum insured is Rs.5 Lakhs. Individuals as well as families can be covered under the sbi general group health insurance policy. The minimum and maximum sum insured mentioned is the pre underwritten sum insured and if higher sum insured is needed the proposal of sbi general group health insurance would be routed to the underwriter for approval.
There is no medical checkup for the members of the sbi general group health insurance policy. All the members of the sbi group health insurance policy are exempted from undergoing the pre-policy medical checkup. This is the major advantage in the sbi health insurance scheme with no pre-policy medical checkup.
All the hospitalization expenses such as in-patient hospitalization, day care treatments, outpatient treatment etc are covered under the sbi general group health insurance policy. Room rent expenses, ICU charges, Nursing expenses are covered under the sbi general health insurance policy up to the sum insured mentioned under the policy. Pre and post hospitalization expenses are paid up to 30 days before the hospitalization and after the hospitalization.
The sbi health insurance scheme pays for the day care expenses incurred on advanced technological surgeries and procedures requiring less than 24 hours of hospitalization as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the policy. Prior approval should be taken from sbi health insurance to avail the daycare expenses.
The reasonable and customary charges towards domiciliary hospitalization as mentioned in the policy would be covered subject to 20% of the basic sum insured of the policy or Rs.20,000 whichever is less. The domiciliary hospitalization can be availed only on the advice of the treating doctor without which the claim would not be paid by the insurance company.
Infant is covered from day 1 under the family floater sum insured policy till 90 days after which the infant should be added in the sbi general group health insurance policy on payment of additional premium. Infants are covered only if the parents are covered under the sbi group health insurance policy.
